ok, day 2 of Disneyland

No pics yet, I will add them once I get the pics from DH.

Tuesday was the best day of the trip. We started the day with a character breakfast at Ariel's Grotto.

I was wearing my Doctor Who/Merida shirt and the girl in front of me in line had worn the exact shirt the day before. And had had her pic taken with Merida wearing it. According to her, Merida totally stayed in character saying, "I know that's me, but what is that in the background?" Love!

Ariel was hanging out at the entrance, I had my pic taken there. The women who took us to our table placed us outside and in the best spot (IMO). I had the best place to see the princesses come out and they stopped at our table first. Belle (yay!), Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and . It was nice that they were there so I didn't have to try and find them in the park.

I rode the Indiana Jones ride and DH joined me on the Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. I liked how they changed the theme of the Haunted Mansion to the Nightmare Before Christmas. It was still fun, but it wasn't the same as how it originally is. We had reservations at the Blue Bayou at 6:50, so we didn't stay at the park too long.

I did get my pic taken with Merida. I loved her, she really didn't break character and commented how she had seen a lot of people wearing the Doctor Who/Merida shirt. I loved it!

We had dinner at Blue Bayou, it was really nice. Their potatoes au gratin and onion strings were delicious! They gave us a free dessert ( I don't remember what it was) for our anniversary.

Next blog post will be day 3!

come into read about my Disneyland trip

OMG IT WAS AMAZING!!! BEST.BIRTHDAY.EVER!!!

I'm going to make a post about each day. Right now D has all the pictures on his phone, so I will have to add them later.

DAY ONE-

Our flight left via Jet Blue at 6:18 am. D wasn't a huge fan of that, since we woke up around 2:30 and my dad picked us up at 3 and dropped us off at the airport at around 3:45. But I thought it was worth it since we arrived at Disneyland around 9:30 and could go into the park right after we checked into the hotel. Unfortunately the Jet Blue check in desk didn't open until 4:15, so we had to hang out until then.

Flight was pretty good, we shelled out the extra money to get the Extra Space option, which gave us extra leg space and a free checked bag. Also first boarding onto the plane.

We stayed at the Disney Californian Hotel and Spa, has its own entrance into California Adventure, which was awesome! A little more money wise, but so worth it. When we checked into the hotel, everyone was super nice and made a big deal that it was my (early) birthday and our 4 year anniversary. They gave us our buttons and I immediately put them on.

Around the time we landed, my nose started to get stuffed up, and it proceeded to get worse once we got into the room. I was pretty miserable the rest of the day and ended up going to bed around 8. The hotel was awesome and sent up a humidifier and it helped IMMENSELY. Thankfully my allergies didn't show up the rest of the trip. The park closed at 6 that day anyway for their Halloween party, so I didn't miss too much.

Also, our character breakfast was at 9:10 the next morning, so it was good to have plenty of sleep.

First day wasn't the best, but I was at Disneyland, so it didn't suck completely. I will add the post about day two later.

first step taken in getting my next tattoo!

I'm very excited to say that I've scheduled my appointment and placed a down payment! The artist is very popular and his next appointment isn't until April of next year. That's ok though since it will give me plenty of time to save up the money for it! I'll be getting it done at Slave to the Needle.

Here is what I'm getting, it will be on my left forearm.

WIJFR Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky *possible spoilers*

I LOVED this book, it was so sad and beautiful. I really liked how it was written, it definitely worked for the character.

I really related to Charlie, I have also stayed in the hospital due to a breakdown. I remember being checked in, having to take out the drawstring from my sweatshirt, D bringing me a bag of clothes and the snow leopard stuffed animal he got for me from the Woodland Park Zoo. And then when D had to leave, I remember sitting on the bed and realizing how alone I was. Like Charlie, it was such a big help having family and friends being so supportive.

I found out that the author was also the director and producer of the movie, it was great that it followed the book very closely, but wasn't exactly the same.

WIJFR Mockingjay by Suzane Collins *SPOILERS*

I enjoyed this, but I felt that the ending was a bit hurried.

I don't see why Katniss didn't see how bad Gale was going, willing to set up human traps with no remorse. So I wasn't too upset when he was transferred to District 2 at the end. I was glad that Katniss ended up with Peeta, but didn't feel that she loved him as much as he loved her. Like she was settling down a little.

And forcing the Hunger Games on the children of the Capitol? I wasn't sure how I felt about that. It wasn't the childrens' fault for the bad decisions that their parents and ancestors made. And I don't recall these Hunger Games every being mentioned.

And Katniss having children? She admitted that she only had them because Peeta wanted children. It sounded like she was happy with the decision after she gave birth, but it wasn't very evident.

WIJFR Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

I really enjoyed the Hunger Games' sequel. I couldn't put it down, I had to find out what was going to happen next! I read it in day.  I'm never a huge fan of love triangles. Peeta or Gale? "I don't love Peeta, but yet when I kiss him, I feel something!" I feel stupid saying this...but team Peeta! Yep...I just said that...

And now I'm on the hold list for the library for Mocking jay. Looking forward to getting it!

WIJFR Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I've seen the movie and I've been meaning to read the book for a while. I enjoyed it, even though  it seemed that the author used commas way too much and in places where they weren't needed.

I liked how the movie followed the book very closely. I noticed that they only changed a few things.

4 out of 5 stars.

WIJFR Game of Thrones Vol 1 (graphic novel) *SPOILERS*

Very similar to the books, not a whole of changes. I thought the artwork was very well done, though I was a little sad that Tyrion didn't look like Peter Dinklage.

And I still skipped the part where they killed Lady. I will never forgive you for that Martin!

I recommend it, 5 stars!

WIJFR Fool Moon by Jim Butcher

Second book in the Harry Dresden series. This time around people are showing up dead, bodies completely mutilated and the only clues that show up are paw prints. With the bodies showing up around the full moon, Harry is called in. Could it be supernatural?

I thought it was better than the first, I believe there was quite a few years between the first two books.

I have realized that when I try to pronounce fool, it sounds like full. Or fuel.

What I Just Finished Reading (WIJFR) Storm Front by Jim Butcher

This is the first book in the Harry Dresden novels. When I first started dating D, he recommended the series by saying, "it's about a wizard detective in modern day Chicago." That alone piqued my interest and I'm glad I read it. I believe it was one of Jim Butcher's first novels, and while it was good, you could tell it was his first. The editing wasn't the best (not really his fault) and I remember a couple of inconsistencies. He mentioned that Harry's date with Susan was on Saturday night and later that night he was saying that it was almost midnight on Friday.

The book starts off with Harry being called into a crime scene where two people had died from having their hearts ripped from their chest. According to Harry, the only person who could have done it is a wizard. As he is the only known wizard, he becomes the primary suspect. Not only by the police but by the White Council, which is governed by a group of wizards. He is already on their watch list, so of course this does not bode well for Harry.

Harry has to find out who murdered these people, find the missing husband and clear his name. All the while dealing with a mob boss, the police and his handler from the White Council.

I would like this for my home library

Even though I'm sure not a lot of people will be wanting to borrow books from me. :)

Emerald City ComiCon

Was a blast! Of course I was working the entire time, but I loved it! We sold out of tickets on Friday and it was amazingly busy.

I was behind the registration desk for about 98% of the time, but I did get about an hour on the show floor for my yearly trip to see Jeph Jacques at the Questionable Content to get my free sketch and his new print.

I will post the stuff I got later. I did hand Bruce Timm's badge, which I was a little bit of a fan girl about. :)
